The Food of the Poorest of Filipinos called “Pagpag”
Published by: Eron of Talk Loud | Dated: 15th of April, 2009In our daily lifestyle, we almost eat the proper and right foods that we wish we could taste. From hamburgers, spaghetti, beef steak, noodles, fried chicken, pork chop and many more. The reason why I can’t wrote it all down here is that we almost eaten all kinds of food to our knowledge.

But little do some of us know that the poorest of all Filipinos are living in Metro Manila. They are what we know as beggars and some are those who live under bridges, canals and others. They eat a common food called by them as “pagpag.” It is the left over foods from different fast food chains and houses that are thrown on garbage. The poorest of all Filipinos pick these up and cook it again and sometimes worst eats it straight right from the garbage bag or can.
So think again if you spit on your left over food before throwing it. Because you know now that somebody eats it again just to survive a day of hunger. Why our government does keeps on saying that it is dirty, don’t eat those? Why, do they have solutions for it? Actions speak louder than words.

Excellent article and very true. Not only does this happen in the Phillipines but in many countries and yes the government needs to do something about it. Here in the US many are suffering from the economical crisis, not as dab i nsa other countries but this is becoming more common here as well.
very good article tnx
Good article…
yes u r right, having no food to eat, they have no choice but to eat those foods which are left overs from fast foods and other restaurants..
And this is all because of the economic crisis…How sad that the poorest of us will eat leftovers just to satisfy their hunger..Let’s open our eyes and do something about this matter…
great article!!! its very nice to let our officials see this, so that they can think the result of their being corrupt…have a change please…think about your people sir not your self..thanks
