Gary Ruiz, Lead Exterior Designer for the Chevy Volt
Published by: Eron of Talk Loud | Dated: 14th of March, 2009During the early days of his career, the Filipino-American Gary Ruiz was once a pharmacist. He graduated at Ohio State University (OSU) and took up Pharmacology. He did this because of what all other Filipino parents wanted for their children, to take up medicinal courses. Both of his parents are Filipino by blood, his mother came from Legaspi and while his father is from Pangasinan.

After practicing his field for a few years he then realizes his true potential as a designer. He said on news that ever since he likes to draw on papers, he has a gift as I could say. He then started to take up BSA in Industrial Design, specialize in transportation design at the College for Creative Studies in Detroit. After the studies he did, he get his work at Chrysler LLC before moving to General Motors Corp., one of the most respected automobile company in the US.
A great responsibility is assigned to him and that is to be the Lead Exterior Designer for the newest Chevrolet car, the Chevy Volt. It is run by a lithium-ion battery that can be charge on any electrical outlet. The Chevy Volt will be said to release on mid 2010-2011, up to now it is unofficial. Because of the brilliant mind and creativity of a 34-year-old and our fellow Filipino, Gary Ruiz, we will hope somehow to see his car design running on the streets of Manila in the near future.
