Francis M, The Master Rapper, The Man from Manila
Published by: Eron of Talk Loud | Dated: 8th of March, 2009Who is Francis Magalona? He is the first Filipino artist that launches the very first rap album in the Philippines on 1990 entitled “Yo!”, with the hit single “Mga Kababayan Ko”. I do love rap music but I only choose a few of it and top of that are Francis M’s compositions.

What makes him different from other rap artist in Philippines? Well, almost all of his compositions are inspirable and patriotic (all are dedicated to Filipinos). Whenever you hear and feel the lyrics of his songs, it will surely opens up your eyes to reality and gives you hope for a change and for a new Philippines. Francis M is so patriotic that he always puts Philippines and Filipinos on his compositions and not only in music but also on his clothing business, 3 Stars & a Sun. This is the first time I saw Pinoys wearing shirts that represents a Philippine flag. It looks simple but the effect is very promising to rise up our patriotic side. And if only I have the power to order someone in the Philippine government, I will suggest that Francis Magalona is truly a National Artist for Music and Visual Arts, the reasons are barely obvious.
I just want to pay tribute to a Filipino idol that was recently passed away last March 6, 2009 battling the complications of leukemia at age 44. He will always be in every Filipino’s hearts and minds, his songs and his ideals. Francis Magalona’s legacy for the Filipino will continue on for the youths to come. God bless his family and God be with him.

the man i considered as the king of true filipino music
the KING of PINOY RAP who merge with the PINOY ROCK.Also the popular host of noon time show EAT BULAGA,the first filipino VJ in MTV ASIA.FRANCISM shared a lot of idea in the industry and the community. He deserve what we want to give to him. So lets shout for the true man… who made as the freeman and taught as to be proud and true filipino!!!
The man from manila, mga praning and cold summer nights were tunes iam really into! RIP mastah rappah! god is really good that he graced us someone so talented as you!
If you are a follower of his blogs, you would never really thought, that he’s not gonna make it. He is very high in spirits, full of hope, brave, but he also accepted the fact, that in his Happy Battle, there can only be one Lord who shall decide his fate.
I think, we will have nothing but praises for this man from manila. For every endeavor he entered, every journey he traveled, he never fails to show off, his undying passion for this country. He is one of the reason to be proud of, and also a reason to be ashamed of ourselves. You see, this man, who has every reason to be ashamed of his nation, never did. This well off rapper, handsome rawker, intellectual producer, gifted painter, talented photographer wouldn’t really have to be patriotic at all, just to have a name, because his gifts and talents will do.
Instead, he used his name, his gifts, and abilities, to inspire the youth, and the people to stand up for this country. I think, this is his way of defending the three stars and a sun. You don’t really have to have a gun, or to be in the military service, to make a difference, and a contribution.
He said:
“I guess if we just loved our country so much we would be willing to die for it. I would. But a dead me is a useless me. I am more useful alive…”
You don’t have to die for the country, instead, live for the country.
Say no more, Long live the King, Francis M!
