Remove Natural Gas Tax
Published by: Eron of Talk Loud | Dated: 14th of June, 2008It is been said that our own natural gas has a tax. It is listed in our electric bills as Royalty Tax. This natural gas that we use for our electricity is taken near Palawan only and it is not imported from other countries.

Meralco says consumers can save up to 200 pesos if the Royalty tax be removed from the electric bill or completely remove the tax for using our own natural gas. For some other information, Philippines is the only country in Asia that gives tax for using its own natural gas. It is a shame to know it that why does our government giving tax for this while others don’t.
If this is a fact, it must be stop because how many are the Meralco subscribers x 200…?
Actually, the Philippine President is Mandated by the law to remove the tax and royalty on natural gas. The problem is, she, herself, don’t want to follow this law and implement what it said.
I agree with Alfie. I wonder how long will it take before the filipino people would realize the benefit of harnessing our own natural resources and stop corruption in our own government.
