Free Text Messaging Service

Published by: Eron of Talk Loud | Dated: 28th of May, 2008

Do you think that making SMS or text services free will benefit us more? Or it will just gives us more headache because these companies threaten us that if the government insist on doing this, they will turn the SMS or text messaging service OFF.

I’m talking about what our government is asking from the biggest telecom companies in our country, Smart, Globe and Sun. Imagine if they turn off this service, 1 peso for a text message versus a 6 pesos call. Which one will you choose?

it should be free. 1 peso of txt is good for how many days only. with all the price hike, it’s kind of a reward if txt is free :)

If the government REALLY wants to have a totally free SMS, The right thing is for them to MAKE one, which means there will be a telecom provider that will be providing FREE SMS to any user or contact and render the major telecoms (Globe, SMart, SuN) to offer VERY CHEAP calls like they were SMS.
